Founded in July 1998, Continuum is focused on delivering cost-effective solutions for optical layer (Layer 1) connectivity. As part of its business strategy, Continuum's optical switches are designed to address multiple tiered markets, with applications in instrumentation & test, carrier-class optical transport and switching, and in several emerging markets in video, defense, and network monitoring. Continuum's DirectLight product utilizes a unique beam-steering approach to achieve a new level of performance and cost-effectiveness

Aaron Bent is Vice President of Marketing & Business Development and co-founder of Continuum. Dr. Bent is responsible for all aspects of the company's product marketing, marketing communications and new business development. He holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Michael Downing is Program Manager for EM4 Defense Products. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and was Operations Manager at Ramar Corp. for 3 years and Technical Director at JDSU for 2 years before joining EM4.
