Topic:
FTTH / FTTP SYSTEMS FOR IPTV

Speakers:

Floyd Wagoner

Motorola / Quantum Bridge
Sales Manager for PONS
Marketing Director for Fiber Access Syystems

As the popularity of HDTV grows, HD streams will multiply from one to two, three and more per household and VOD will continue to claim its share of bandwidth as penetration rates grow beyond 30% by 2010. In the short-term that means a wave of competitive broadband offerings with support for added high-definition (HD) television content, video on demand (VOD) services and high-speed data traffic are now being deployed. Down the road, growth in direct fiber or FTTx deployments will prove not just a competitive advantage for select providers, but a necessity for those wanting to deploy feature-rich, advanced service bundles.
